Cayuga County Home Care Chooses Procura HHS

Auburn, NY, 12/5/2007 - Cayuga County Home Care, the Certified Home Health Agency of the Cayuga County Department of Health, has chosen, through competitive bid, Procura HHS (formerly 3M Home Health Systems) as their home care software vendor for Client Intake, Scheduling, Billing, Pont of Care and advanced ICD-9 Encoding with 3M Codefinder.

Cayuga County Home Care (CCHC) has been providing home care service to residents of Cayuga County for over 40 years. CCHC's Medicare Certified agency programs include Nursing, Aide Services, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Social Work, Long Term Care and Maternal Child Health.

By partnering with Procura HHS, CCHC plans to improve nursing productivity by maximizing efficiencies that can be gained through point of care computing. "Now we can check in with our nurses over the phone instead of in person because they won't have to make as many trips to the office," explained Kathleen Cuddy, Deputy Director of Health Services. As well, CCHC plans to ensure appropriate reimbursement through more accurate ICD-9 coding with Codefinder.

"We are so thrilled to be working with Cayuga County Home Health. They followed a well defined evaluation process during the selection of homecare software taking into account the operational and strategic benefits of implementing a new system," said Haig Tellalian, Regional Sales Manager at Procura HHS.

"There are a number of reasons why we selected Procura HHS. We had looked at other New York State agencies, both county and non-county, to learn what software these organizations were using. Given the complexities of Medicaid, we wanted a solution that was proven in New York State. After a competitive bid process, we selected Procura HHS because of their experience in New York State and Nationally, their local user groups, on-site training, strong references and user friendly software. In addition, their solution has kept pace with technology and the strong relationships we developed with their staff became an asset during the evaluation process," commented Kathleen Cuddy.

"This partnership promises to be cohesive because both companies are committed to quality care and business integrity. With an emphasis on company strength to facilitate community success, their organization is a lot like ours. We look forward to this cooperative endeavor," commented Darcey Trescone, RN, BSN Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Procura.
